“Bring of Spring”
“Flower after flower begins Spring” (A.Swinburne)
Homage to Flora, the Goddess who embodied the flourishing of nature in all its forms, vegetal, animal and human. Ovid says that while the girl was walking through the fields, Zephyr saw her and fell madly in love with her, until he joined her in marriage. As a gesture of love he allowed her to reign over flowers and fields. The image of prosperity, as well as rebirth and the joys of life, represented with an explosion of flowers and colors is linked to her.
